The planning of recreational agricultural areas as part of the new city expansion project south of Beijing. Project mainly concentrated on the ecological restoration and recreational planning of watersides and the establishment of agricultural tourism. A major feature was the establishment and expansion of forestry belts to increase biodiversity in the area.
